Cryotherapy & Curettage

Cryotherapy is controlled freezing with liquid nitrogen; curettage is careful mechanical removal. Both are used every day for benign skin growths such as viral warts and seborrhoeic keratoses.

Consultations in Sofia (Strelbishte) in English, French, Spanish and Bulgarian.

Who it is for

  • For viral warts on hands and feet
  • For seborrhoeic keratoses and skin tags
  • For other benign lesions — after examination and assessment

How it works

  1. 1 Examination and dermatoscopic assessment of the lesion
  2. 2 Discussion of the method, expected result and alternatives
  3. 3 The procedure itself, which usually takes a few minutes
  4. 4 Clear aftercare instructions

My approach

„Before any procedure, the lesion is examined with a dermatoscope. If there is any doubt that it is benign, the first step is a diagnosis, and only then is a treatment chosen.“

— Dr. Stefany Kraevska

Good to know

  • 1

The procedure is short and usually well tolerated. It feels like intense cold with a mild stinging.

  • 2

Some lesions, warts in particular, need more than one session, a few weeks apart.

  • 3

Not every lesion is suitable for freezing, which is why the examination before the procedure is not a formality.

After the consultation

The treated area forms a crust that falls off by itself after one to several weeks, depending on the site; healing is slower on the legs. You receive simple aftercare guidance and, if needed, we schedule a second session, because some lesions take more than one.

Prices and duration depend on the individual case and are confirmed when you book.

Frequently asked questions

Does cryotherapy hurt?

It feels like intense cold with a brief sting or burning. It is usually done without anaesthetic.

Will it leave a scar?

With proper technique and aftercare the risk of a permanent scar is small. A lighter or darker mark is possible; it usually fades, but sometimes it is permanent.

When can I shower and exercise?

It depends on the treated area. You receive exact instructions on showering and exercise in writing after the procedure.
